PvP Demoralize Barbarian Guide
Demoralize Barbarians use the Frenzy primary attack along with Demoralize, Wrath of the Berserker, Sunder, and Undying Rage. Wrath of the Berserker has full uptime, gives you a movement speed increase, and retaliates against enemies with the recommended essences. Sunder is used to draw opponents in, increases your primary attack speed with Demoralize, and gives immunity to loss of control for a short duration. This build is the best Barbarian build for pure tanking and it deals higher damage to single targets than Cleave at high potency levels with the Lion's Mane main hand essence which makes Demoralize trigger the full duration of your damage over time effects instantly on hit. The Undying Rage skill is also very important for PvP for a cheat death that heals you and it's also one of the strongest defensive skills in the game.

Paragons & Legendary Skills: Demoralize Barbarian Build

1. Vanquisher is the best damage paragon for this build because it increases your damage and attack speed on kills.
2. Gladiator is the best PvP paragon tree for this build because it gives a cheat death which is important on Barbarian.
3. Vanquisher is the best paragon tree for increased magic find and has increased damage and attack speed on kills.
4. Harbinger can be used in Erebban for an absorb shield, movement speed, and to move unhindered through enemies.
5. Survivor is recommended in Vanguard when you have a low charm because it has a cheat death that works in Vanguard.
6. The best legendary skill for this build is Death's Release which causes an explosion after your continual damage expires.

Main Hand
Lion's Mane - Demoralize now triggers all damage over time on the target instantly. This causes damage over time effects to trigger their full duration instead of just repeatedly refreshing their duration when you hit enemies.​

Bergbreaker - Wrath of the Berserker now increases movement speed and causes you to retaliate on enemies.

Iron Tusk - Demoralize now also gives increased critical hit chance when it hits an enemy stacking up to three times.

Burden of Nothingness - Demoralize also grants an aura for three seconds that reduces the damage of all nearby enemies.

Note: Demoralize with the Terror Unburdened helmet essence is considered a primary attack.

Recommended Sets
1. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - This set increases your beneficial effects durations by 30% which includes Wrath of the Berserker.
2. Angmet's Conflagration (4 Set) - Deals high damage over time which is instantly triggered by the Lion's Mane essence.
3. Untouchable Mountebank (2 Set) - Great for PvP for a large absorb shield which significantly improves your defenses.
Note: You should look for yellow sockets on both of your rings and socket them with Citrines for more potency. You should also look for increased beneficial effects duration on your waist and boots slots for Wrath of the Berserker.

Recommended Skill Enchants
1. Demoralize skill enchants make Demoralize reduce the movement speed of nearby enemies by 20% for three seconds.
2. Wrath of the Berserker skill enchants give you a chance to deal damage around you every 0.5 seconds for a duration.
3. Sunder skill enchants are optional for a shockwave on activation of Sunder that deals damage to nearby enemies.
4. Undying Rage skill enchants are optional and each reduce the duration of harmful effects on you by 10%.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems
1. Roiling Consequence - Great gem that increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.
2. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.
3. Hellbound Desire - Increases damage and movement speed with bonus damage for a six second duration.
4. Gloom Cask - Deals added damage with your primary attacks for a duration and increase primary attack damage.
5. Golden Firmament - Causes multiple ranged wind damage attacks on cooldown and increases your evasion rating.
6. Fated Trail - Deals damage based on your maximum life, immobilizes enemies, and increases enemies' damage taken.
7. Haunt Coil - ​Useful in offensive and defensive stance to increase damage or reduce damage taken for a duration.
8. Frozen Heart (important for PvP on Barbarians) - Gives an absorb shield for a medium duration and chills enemies.
Note: Gloom Cask and Golden Firmament deal their own damage which makes them better for tank builds. Fated Trail can also be switched to the Crimson Behelit or the Stubborn Oracle two star gem at mid to low resonance for better tanking.
Best 2 Star Legendary Gems
1. Crimson Behelit - Strong PvP legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.
2. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.
3. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that causes an enemy to bleed.
4. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.
5. War Herald - This PvP gem increases your damage and gives an absorb shield after you lose a total of 100% life.​
6. Abiding Curse - Greatly lowers enemies' attack speed and movement speed and gives a damage increase against them.
7. Battleguard - A solid defensive gem that reduces your damage taken against enemies within three yards.
8. Stubborn Oracle - Gives a chance to block enemies in front of you and reduces the duration of loss of control effects.
Note: Crimson Behelit, Battleguard, and Stubborn Oracle are all great defensive gems for PvP tanks. Abiding Curse can also optionally be used but it's strifed in PvP and requires high potency to get a decent debuff duration on opponents.​

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems
​1. Misery Elixir - An excellent one star for this build that increases the duration of your DoTs which are instantly triggered.
2. Entropic Well - A great budget one star legendary gem that increases skill damage and attack speed.
3. Everlasting Torment - Budget gem that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.
4. Ca'arsen's Invigoration - A strong one star gem for this build that increases your primary attack speed.
5. Respite Stone - This PvP legendary gem reduces damage taken and increases block chance below 50% life.
6. Faltergrasp - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical hits and greatly reduces opponents' movement speed.
Note: Misery Elixir is the strongest one star gem for this build which means it should be replaced with a five star gem last.​

Best Familiars
1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience Duskprowler with the Savior passive which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior but only Duskprowlers and Ash Sweepers can have 170+ Resilience. The Tenacity passive is strong for lowering the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield, the Guardian passive is great for healing, and Steel Hide is great on tank builds for increased block chance.
2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for more damage.
3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong for PvP because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience which reduces the cooldown of Savior.
4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as a budget option.
5. Rare Duskprowler - Guardian is the next best familiar passive because it provides healing when you drop below 50% life. Steel Hide occasionally gives increased block chance, Phalanx increases your damage and defenses, Precision gives critical hit chance to the familiar, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also desirable.
Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems
You should prioritize Tourmalines for added DoT damage in red sockets and Citrines for potency to increase harmful effects durations in yellow sockets. You can combine all of your bound Topazes for resistances into one or two Topazes for some extra resistances but you should prioritize Citrines in yellow sockets for more potency. The full duration of your damage over time is instantly triggered with this build so potency is a major damage increase. You should also socket your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. Refinement is determined by the quality of the normal gem and it increases the attributes of the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes
The Haunt Coil five star gem is great on this tank build because when you switch stances you receive an absorb shield, more damage, and damage reduction. The Fated Trail five star gem is strong on this build because it deals damage based on your maximum life and it increases enemies' damage taken while also shortly immobilizing PvP opponents. The Gloom Cask and Golden Firmament five star gems both deal their own damage which is better than other damage options when you're playing a tank build. The Frozen Heart five star gem is also recommended for Barbarians in PvP because it gives an absorb shield and it also chills opponents which slows opponents' attack speed and movement speed for better tanking.​​
