Main Hand

Five-Finger Spear - Whirling Strike now causes primary attacks to damage enemies and make them bleed. Critical hits with Whirling Strike also cause arcs of blood to spin on top of nearby enemies dealing damage to them.

Off-Hand

Involuntary Transfusion - Wave of Blood now drains your life to damage nearby enemies and drains their life.

Shade Oblique - Shadow's Edge now also increases your critical hit chance for two seconds stacking up to three times.​

Mooncall - Shadow's Edge now also increases your primary attack speed stacking up to three times.

Masque of Demir - Whirling Strike now also increases your damage for a medium duration.

Cage of Thorns - Tendrils of Blood now drains enemies' life and movement speed after they've been damaged repeatedly.

Detritus Stole - Swarm of Bats now has bats that orbit you dealing damage with additional bats as you drain more life.

Silenced Screams (Raid) - Swarm of Bats now also increases your critical hit chance for a short duration.​

Screeching Flight (AoE) - Swarm of Bats now also increases movement speed by 60% for a short duration.

Recommended Sets

1. Grace of the Flagellant (4 Set) - Deals additional damage every time you damage an enemy five times.

2. Vithu's Urges (2-4 Set) - Increases the duration of your beneficial effects by 30% and increases your attack speed.

3. Untouchable Mountebank (PvP 2 Set) - Gives a 20% chance to gain an absorb shield when you take damage.

Note: Look for blue sockets on both of your rings so that you can socket them with Sapphires which give Armor Penetration.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - A powerful gem that increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Hellbound Desire - Increases damage and movement speed with bonus damage for a six second duration.

3. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.

4. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, temporary knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.​

5. Gloom Cask - Sends out blades that deal damage with your primary attacks and increases your primary attacks damage.

6. Leviathan Tomb - Increases your damage for a duration and makes critical hits increase the damage bonus.

7. Blood Floe - A solid five star gem that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

8. Fated Trail (PvM) - Deals damage as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.

9. ​Frozen Heart (PvP) - A strong legendary gem for PvP that gives an absorb shield and it chills opponents.​

 

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that makes enemies bleed.

3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

4. Fervent Fang - Gives enemies a stacking damage taken increase and increases your damage against elites and bosses.​

5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem increases your damage and deals damage but it's currently drop disabled.

6. Power & Command - Alternates between increased skill damage and increased primary damage and sometimes dispels.

7. Viper's Bite - This damage over time gem is strong early on and it deals great damage at low resonance levels.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

9. Grim Rhythm - A gem that increases your attack speed when you hit enemies for three seconds stacking up to ten times.

Note: Power & Command is a low priority 2 star gem and it should be replaced with a 5 star gem first. Pain Clasp, Crimson Behelit, Mother's Lament, and Specter Glass are the top four two star gems and they should be replaced last.

Best 1 Star Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Entropic Well - A great one star gem for increased skill damage that can eventually be replaced with a strong 5 star gem.

3. Everlasting Torment - A great budget option that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

4. Ca'arsen's Invigoration - A lower priority one star legendary gem that increases your primary attack speed.

5. Faltergrasp (PvP) - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical strikes and greatly reduces their movement speed.

Note: The Berserker's Eye gem is a strong one star gem that requires a high ranked up 5 star gem to match its damage.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience Duskprowler with the Savior passive which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior. The Tenacity passive is important to lower the Duskprowler's shield cooldown. The Lingering Wounds passive can be used for more damage but it only works on a Duskprowler if you also have the Ignition passive because it counts as a familiar status ailment.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for 3 seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience which reduces the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Guardian is the next best familiar passive because it can heal you when you drop below 50% life. Innervate can reset one of the player's cooldowns, Vigorbloom provides a little increased damage, Precision gives critical hit chance to the familiar, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also all desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and use a combination of Citrines and Topazes for potency and resistances in yellow sockets for the highest refinement. Potency increases harmful effects durations on enemies and resistances decrease harmful effects durations on you. Citrines for potency is preferred if you only care about PvM damage but resistances come into play more with PvP. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life into one or two Rubies and socket them into your equipment if they give more refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The fairly new Leviathan's Tomb five star gem deals more damage than Fated Trail five star gem on nearly every build. The Fated Trail five star gem is still strong however for this build because it deals increased damage based on your maximum life and resonance while also giving an immobilize effect. The Gloom Cask five star gem is strong on this build because it fires blades with your primary attacks and increases the damage of your primary attacks. The Blood Floe five star gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and critical hit damage. When using increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should consider rolling increased critical hit damage on your equipment with Reforge Stones for more damage. The Frozen Heart five star gem should also be used in PvP for an absorb shield.​
