Main Hand

Nocbrodd Horn - Stormfury damage now also increases your critical hit chance stacking up to three times.

Off-Hand

Endless Susurration - Zephyr Surge now consumes all Zephyrs and teleports to a location with more slashes per Zephyr consumed. Additionally, you are untargetable during this attack and all Zephyrs return when it ends.

Main Hand 2

Mist Carver - Stormfury now also deals increased damage based on how much movement speed you have.​

Off-Hand 2

Vivid Afterthought - When a Zephyr expires your skill damage is increased for a duration stacking up to three times.

Helmet

Sumptuous Swell - Cascade now periodically unleashes bursts of water from you and your Zephyrs.

​

Chest

Wavestrider's Ringmail - Cascade now also creates Zephyrs every time you move three yards during its effect.

​Note: This essence is important because it rapidly spawns Zephyrs for Zephyr Surge and Storm Fury skill damage.

Shoulders

Tempered Tempest - Stormfury now strikes enemies with lightning every few yards traveled. Additionally, Zephyrs in the storm will also be struck by Stormfury dealing lightning damage and shocking nearby enemies.

Legs

Water Clogs - Tidal Rush now gives increased movement speed, damages enemies, creates a Zephyr, and Drenches enemies on hit which increases your damage and it reduces your damage taken from Drenched enemies.​

Recommended Sets

1. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - Increases the duration of your beneficial effects by 30%.

2. Untouchable Mountebank (4 Set) - Gives a chance to give an absorb shield when you take damage.

3. Restitution in Blood (4 Set) - Greatly increases your damage for a short duration on cooldown.

Note: It's important to have reduced skill cooldown on your amulet and rings on Tempest builds for more skill uptime.

Recommended Skill Enchants

1. Zephyr Surge skill enchants are important to increase your Zephyr Surge's critical hit damage (two can hit crit cap).

2. Cascade skill enchants should be used to increase the area of effect of your Cascade skill.

3. Tidal Rush skill enchants increase enemies damage taken when they are hit by Tidal Rush or your Zephyr.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Great five star gem that increases critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Hellbound Desire - Increases damage and movement speed with bonus damage for a six second duration.

3. Blood-Soaked Jade - Increases damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.

4. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, temporary knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a six second duration with a 20 second cooldown.

5. Wulfheort - Deals additional damage for a duration and increases your and your allies' attack speed (includes Zephyrs).

6. Leviathan Tomb - Increases damage for a duration and makes critical hits increase its damage bonus.

7. Haunt Coil - Strong PvP gem that greatly reduces your damage taken in defensive stance for a duration on cooldown.

8. Void Spark (PvM) - Gives massive AoE damage that chains to nearby enemies and increases your attack speed.

9. Frozen Heart (PvP) - Gives an absorb shield and chills enemies which lowers their attack speed and movement speed.

 

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage when enemies have an active continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and fires a damaging spike at an enemy that makes them bleed.

3. Specter Glass - Increases enemies' damage taken after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

4. Lightning Core - A low priority gem that fires lightning when you use your primary attack and it shortly increases damage.

5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and deals its own damage but it's drop disabled.​

6. Viper's Bite - This two star gem is strong early on because it deals great damage over time at low resonance levels.

7. Igneous Scorn - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority two star legendary gem and should be the first to be replaced with a ranked up five star gem.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy two star gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: Pain Clasp is the best PvM two star gem for damage and Crimson Behelit is the best PvP two star gem.

Best 1 Star Starter Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye - Increases your damage and critical hit chance but it also increases your damage taken.

2. Blessed Pebble - This one star gem increases your beneficial effects durations and increases your movement speed.

3. Entropic Well - A great budget one star gem that increases your skill damage and increases your attack speed.

4. Everlasting Torment - A great starter gem that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

5. Faltergrasp - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical hits and greatly reduces opponents' movement speed.

6. Respite Stone - This defensive one star gem reduces your damage taken and increases your block chance.

Note: Berserker's Eye is a high damage one star gem that requires a ranked up 5 star gem to match its damage.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which gives a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170 + Resilience lowers the cooldown of the Savior passive skill. The Tenacity passive is great because it lowers the Duskprowler's shield cooldown. The Lingering Wounds passive can be used for increased damage but it only works on a Duskprowler if you have the Ignition passive which gives enemies a status effect.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong in PvP because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience to reduce the cooldown of the Savior passive.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Guardian is the next best familiar passive because it heals you when you drop below 50% life. Phalanx increases your damage and defenses, Steel Hide gives occasional increased block chance, Precision gives critical hit chance to familiars, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also desirable passives.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and you should use a combination of Citrines and Topazes for potency and resistances in yellow sockets for the highest refinement. Potency increases your harmful effects durations and resistances decrease harmful effects durations on you. Citrines for potency is preferred if you only care about your PvM damage but resistances come into play much more often in PvP. You should also use your highest refinement Sapphires and Aquamarines which give armor penetration and armor respectively in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give increased maximum life and socket them in your equipment if it gives more refinement. Normal gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on your equipment slots.

Gem Notes

The Haunt Coil five star gem is important for PvP to greatly reduce your damage taken when you're in a defensive stance. The Blood-Soaked Jade and Hellbound Desire five star gems are great for this build for increased movement speed which increases your Stormfury damage and provides better mobility. The fairly new Leviathan's Tomb five star gem deals more damage than the Fated Trail gem on almost every build. The Colossus Engine five star gem increases movement speed (from its size increase), increases skill damage, increases area of effect, and gives temporary knockback immunity. When using increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should consider rolling increased critical hit damage on your equipment slots for more damage. You should also roll increased beneficial effect duration on your equipment which is important on Tempests for 100% skill uptime. The Frozen Heart five star gem is important for survival with this PvP build because it gives an absorb shield and it chills opponents which lowers their attack speed and movement speed.​
