Diablo Immortal: The Best AoE Classes Ranked

1. Barbarian - Whirlwind Demoralize Barbarian

The Whirlwind Demoralize Barbarian received a major buff back in Torment XII with a new variation of Whirlwind that made it deal better single target and AoE damage. Instead of focusing on Endless Whirlwind, a new essence made Whirlwind return energy on hit while also making Whirlwind deal much higher damage. They were buffed again with the addition of the Whirling Howl essence which allows Whirlwind Barbarians to use Demoralize to trigger instant DoTs. Whirlwind Barbarians are now extremely strong for AoE damage and they have the added benefit of having excellent mobility in dungeons.

​2. Warlock - Burning Ascent Infernal Eruption Warlock

​​​

The Burning Ascent Infernal Eruption Warlock isn't only the best AoE Warlock. It has extremely high movement speed and excellent single target damage which makes it great for challenge dungeons, raids, and speed farming. It's a fast paced build that takes 10% increased damage from the Demonic Pact skill which increases your movement speed and summon damage. Infernal Eruption is also recommended to give a fire damage aura and it has increased damage from your movement speed. The Burning Ascent Infernal Eruption Warlock also has great synergy with minions with Demonic Portal which summons minions and Demonic Pact which increases your damage and the damage of your minions.

3. Blood Knight - Whirling Strike Primary Blood Knight

Blood Knights are no longer the last place single target damage and AoE damage class in this Torment tier because their new life drain essences for Wave of Blood and Tendrils of Blood are extremely powerful. The new variation of the Whirling Strike Primary Blood Knight skyrocketed the potential of Blood Knights for both single target damage and AoE damage. These new essences moved Blood Knight up from last place to third place in the AoE damage rankings.

4. Tempest - Vortex Crosswinds Tempest

Tempests are extremely strong for AoE damage compared to other classes at low to mid resonance levels. They perform even better for damage once they have high increased beneficial effect duration for 100% uptime on their cooldown skills. You can eventually enchant increased beneficial effect duration on your waist and boots slots once the enchant option has been unlocked and you can also add more increased beneficial effect duration from reforges on your legendary gear.​​

5. Crusader - Sweep Attack Crusader

​

Crusaders are notorious for being a powerful AoE class especially at higher resonance levels. Judgement is used to rain fire down on nearby enemies and Condemn is used as a condensed lightning storm aura that instantly triggers damage over time effects. Crusaders are especially strong once they have very high potency because potency extends the duration of damage over time effects which are then instantly triggered on nearby enemies with the Condemn aura.

 

6. Wizard - Spectral Weave Ice Crystal Disintegrate Wizard

The fairly new AoE meta Spectral Weave Moving Ice Crystal & Disintegrate Wizard automatically channels Disintegrate on your Ice Crystal to split the damage to multiple nearby enemies. It deals the highest AoE damage of the Wizard builds and is a great option for Abyssal Verge and Challenge Dungeons. The Autumnal Crest & Isolated Storm Slow Time Lightning Nova Wizard is also competitive for the spot which has multiple synergies to Shock and excellent AoE damage.

7. Necromancer - Corpse Lance & Grim Scythe Necromancer

The Corpse Lance & Grim Scythe Necromancers also known as the Corpse Lance Orbit Necromancer uses Corpse Lance, Grim Scythe, and Bone Spirits to deal very high AoE damage. With variations to the build like replacing Bone Spirits with Wraith Form the build is tied for the best PvP Necromancer build and it's also a very strong speed farming build.​

8. Demon Hunter - Strafe Multishot Demon Hunter

The best Demon Hunter build for AoE damage at a low to mid resonance level is the Strafe Multishot Demon Hunter followed by the Dash Spinning Chakram Demon Hunter which does high damage at higher resonance levels. The greatest strength of the Demon Hunter class is their very strong mobility. Demon Hunters aren't as strong for AoE damage as the previous builds, but they make up for it with their high single target damage and excellent mobility.

 

​​​9. Druid - Fire Tornado & Surging Stone Druid

​

​​​The Fire Tornado & Surging Stone Druid AoE build is fairly new. The build uses Fire Tornado as an AoE burn aura that follows you as you move with the Kindling Crown essence while Surging Stone deals damage to nearby enemies. Raven Swarm is used to increase your movement speed and summons a raven when you use your primary attacks with a fairly new essence. Fire Tornado and Surging Stone is newly the best option for Druids for the highest AoE damage.

 

10. Monk - Dash Mystic Winds Cyclone Strike Monk

Mystic Winds Cyclone Strike Monks have an extremely fast movement speed and they have a much larger area of effect than the old meta Tempest Rush Cyclone Strike Monk. Mystic Winds Cyclone Strike was also buffed with the addition of the new Searing Flame legendary skill which pushed it ahead of the Tempest Rush Cyclone Strike Monk for AoE damage.​​
