Xsaadh Dhuth - Rolling Surf now makes your and your Zephyrs' primary attacks slash with swords, gives temporary immunity to loss of control and knockback, and it increases your movement speed.

Hurricane Hitch - Crosswinds now causes your and your Zephyrs' primary attacks to release wind blades.

Vivid Afterthought - When a Zephyr expires your skill damage is increased for a duration stacking up to three times.

Sumptuous Swell - Cascade now periodically unleashes bursts of water from you and your Zephyrs.

Wavestrider's Ringmail - Cascade now also creates Zephyrs every time you move three yards during its effect.

​Note: This essence is important because it rapidly spawns Zephyrs for Storm Fury to empower with lightning damage.

Shoulders

Tempered Tempest - Stormfury now strikes enemies with lightning when you move around. Additionally, Zephyrs in the storm will also be struck by Stormfury dealing lightning damage and shocking nearby enemies.

Legs

Vaporizer - When a Zephyr dissipates it leave behind a Tide Pool which deals lightning damage to enemies inside the pool.​

Recommended Sets

1. Grace of the Flagellant (4 Set) - Deals additional damage each time an enemy takes damage five times.

2. Vithu's Urges (4 Set) - Increases the duration of your beneficial effects and increases your attack speed after buffs.

Note: It's important to have reduced skill cooldown on your amulet and rings on Tempest builds for more skill uptime.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Fated Trail - Deals damage over time based on your maximum life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.

3. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, temporary knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration every 20 seconds.

4. Blood Floe - Increases damage, increases critical hit chance, increases critical hit damage, and causes bleeding.

5. Hellbound Desire - Increases damage and movement speed with bonus damage for a six second duration.

6. Wulfheort - Deals additional damage for a duration and increases your and your allies' attack speed (includes Zephyrs).

7. Leviathan Tomb - Increases damage for a duration and makes critical hits increase Leviathan Tomb's damage bonus.

8. Void Spark (PvM) - Gives massive AoE damage that chains to nearby enemies and increases your attack speed.

9. Frozen Heart (PvP) - Gives an absorb shield and chills enemies which lowers their attack speed and movement speed.

 

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives increased damage when enemies have a continuous damage effect present on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and shoots a spike at enemies that makes them bleed.

3. Specter Glass - Increases enemies' damage taken after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

4. Fervent Fang - Gives a stacking damage increase and increases your damage against elites and bosses.

5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and to deal damage but it's drop disabled.​

6. Viper's Bite - This two star gem is strong early on because it deals great damage over time at low resonance levels.

7. Igneous Scorn - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority two star legendary gem and should be the first to be replaced with a ranked up five star gem.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy two star gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: Pain Clasp is the best PvM two star gem and Crimson Behelit is the best PvP two star gem.

Best 1 Star Starter Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye - Increases your damage and critical hit chance but it also increases your damage taken.

2. Blessed Pebble - This one star gem increases your beneficial effects durations and increases your movement speed.

3. Entropic Well - A great budget one star gem that increases your skill damage and increases your attack speed.

4. Everlasting Torment - A great budget gem that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

5. Havoc Bearer - Increases your damage and attack speed after using a dash skill for 2 seconds on a 6 second cooldown.

6. Faltergrasp - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical hits and greatly reduces opponents' movement speed.

Note: Berserker's Eye is a high damage one star gem that requires a ranked up 5 star gem to match its damage.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which gives a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. Resilience lowers the cooldown of the Savior passive skill. The Tenacity passive is great because it lowers the Duskprowler's shield cooldown. The Lingering Wounds passive can be used for increased damage but it only works on a Duskprowler if you also have the Ignition passive which gives a chance to burn enemies.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience to reduce the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Guardian is the next best familiar passive because it heals you when you drop below 50% life. Innervate can reset one of the player's cooldowns, Phalanx increases your damage and defenses, Precision gives critical hit chance to the familiar, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also desirable passives.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and use a combination of Citrines and Topazes for potency and resistances in yellow sockets for the highest refinement. Potency increases harmful effects durations on enemies and resistances decrease harmful effects durations on you. Citrines for potency is preferred if you only care about your PvM damage but resistances come into play much more often in PvP. You should also use your highest refinement Sapphires and Aquamarines which give armor penetration and armor respectively in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give increased life into one Ruby and socket it in your equipment if it gives more refinement. Normal gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on your equipment.

Gem Notes

The Blood-Soaked Jade and Hellbound Desire five star gems are important for this build for increased movement speed. The Fated Trail five star gem is a strong legendary gem once you have high life and resonance. The fairly new Leviathan's Tomb five star gem deals more damage than Fated Trail but it doesn't have the added benefit of giving an immobilize effect. The Blood Floe five star gem is also a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and increased critical hit damage. The Colossus Engine five star gem increases your movement speed (from its size increase), skill damage, area of effect, and gives temporary knockback immunity. When using multiple increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should also consider rolling critical hit damage on your equipment for more damage. You should also roll increased beneficial effect duration on your equipment which is important for 100% skill uptime.​
