Main Hand

Reel of Kattas - Whirlwind now restores energy and increases attack speed against bleeding enemies.

Note: The Steel Omen essence makes Whirlwind have knockback immunity and increased movement speed but it's not recommended because Steel Omen deals lower damage. You can get increased movement speed from the Sprint skill and you can get knockback, chill, slow, and immobilize immunity during Whirlwind from The Bronze Berm chest essence.

Off-Hand

Bloodseizer (PvM) - Wrath of the Berserker now increases damage and movement speed against bleeding enemies.​

Roar of Persuasion (PvP) - Wrath of the Berserker now increases your critical hit damage and gives life drain.

Main Hand 2

Lion's Mane (PvM) - Demoralize now also instantly triggers your damage over time effects.

Rending Bite (PvP) - Lacerate now also causes bleed for a medium duration.

Off-Hand 2

Falling Thunder - Wrath of the Berserker enrages you increasing your damage when you're near a bleeding enemy.

Helmet

Whirling Howl (PvM) - Demoralize now empowers your steps with wind damage.

Squirmskull (PvP) - Sprint now also greatly increases your attack speed and projectile speed.

Shoulders

Ox's Horns (PvM) - Whirlwind now also gives a stacking Bleed effect to enemies over a three second duration.

Flurry Flumes (PvP) - Whirlwind now also restores energy (important for PvP) which is used to channel Whirlwind.

Chest

Five Fresh Claws (PvM) - Whirlwind now shatters enemies' armor increasing the damage they take stacking up to 15 times.

The Bronze Berm (PvP) - Whirlwind makes you immune to slow, chill, knockback, and immobilize while it's channeled.

Legs

Snowdrifter (PvP/AoE) - Sprint now increases movement speed and gives a stacking chill effect that can freeze enemies.​​

Exulted Demise (Raids) - Undying Rage now gives increased damage, a shield that restores life, and a cheat death.​

Recommended PvM Sets

1. Angmet's Conflagration (4 Set) - Deals damage over time which is instantly triggered with the Lion's Mane essence.

2. Feasting Baron's Pack (2 Set) - Extends the duration of your harmful effects by 30% which are then instantly triggered.

3. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - Increases the duration of your beneficial effects by 30% which includes Wrath of the Berserker.

Note: Angmet's Conflagration and Feasting Baron's Pack are required for instant DoT damage with Demoralize in PvM.

Recommended PvP Sets

1. Grace of the Flagellant (4 Set) - Deals additional damage to enemies after every five times they take damage.

2. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - Increases the duration of beneficial effects by 30% including your Wrath of the Berserker skill.

3. Untouchable Mountebank (2 Set) - Gives a 20% chance to gain an absorb shield when you take damage.

Note: You should look for increased beneficial effects duration on your waist and boots slots for Wrath of the Berserker.

1. Willpower (Potency/Resistances)

Note: Willpower for potency should be prioritized on your Angmet's Conflaguration and Feasting Baron's Pack set items.

Note: Fortitude and Vitality should be prioritized on your Grace of the Flagellant and Untouchable Mountebank set items.

Recommended Skill Enchants

1. Wrath of the Berserker skill enchants give a chance to deal damage to enemies around you every 0.5 seconds.

2. Sprint skill enchants each give you a 12.5% chance of being immune to knockback, chill, and slow effects.

3. Undying Rage skill enchants each reduce the duration of harmful effects on you by 10%.

Note: The Endure and Extend on a chest armor are strong modifiers for PvP because they give a shield and a draw in.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Blood Soaked Jade - Increases damage, increases movement speed, and reduces damage taken below 50% life.

3. Hellbound Desire - Increases damage and movement speed with bonus damage for a six second duration.

4. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.

5. Blood Floe - Strong gem for this build that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

6. Leviathan Tomb - Increases your damage for a duration and makes critical hits increase the damage bonus.

7. Fated Trail (PvM) - Deals damage as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.

8. Haunt Coil (PvP) - Greatly reduces your damage taken for a duration when you are using a defensive stance.

9. Void Spark (PvM) - Deals massive AoE damage that's effective for challenge dungeons, terror rifts, and speed farming.

10. ​Frozen Heart (PvP) - A strong legendary gem for PvP that gives an absorb shield and it also chills opponents.

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that makes enemies bleed.

3. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

4. Fervent Fang - Gives enemies a stacking damage taken increase when they're hit by your attacks.

​5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem increases your damage and deals damage but it's currently drop disabled.

6. Viper's Bite - A nice gem for early on that deals damage over time if you have low legendary gems and resonance.

7. Igneous Scorn (PvM) - Deals damage on critical hits and increases your damage after critical hits. This gem should be the first two star gem to be replaced with a ranked up five star legendary gem.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: Pain Clasp is a powerful gem for PvM damage and Crimson Behelit is the strongest PvP two star gem.

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems

​1. Berserker's Eye (PvM) - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Misery Elixir (PvM) - Great for this build in PvM to increase damage over time durations which are triggered instantly.

3. Trickshot Gem - This gem reduces the energy consumption of channeled skills and reduces your damage taken.

4. Entropic Well - A great one star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and increases your attack speed.

5. Everlasting Torment - This budget gem deals damage over time which triggers the damage increase on Pain Clasp.

6. Interminus Stone - Increases your damage while you are moving and has low increased evasion rating.

7. Surging Sea - A lower priority one star gem that has increased skill damage which stacks up to 10 times.

8. Respite Stone (PvP) - A strong PvP legendary gem that reduces damage taken and increases your block chance.

9. Faltergrasp (PvP) - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical strikes and greatly reduces their movement speed.

Note: Misery Elixir and Berserker's Eye are the best one star gems for PvM for a Whirlwind Demoralize Barbarian.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive which gives a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar can lower the cooldown of Savior from 75 seconds to 60 seconds but only Duskprowlers and Ash Sweepers can have 170+ Resilience. The Tenacity passive is strong for lowering the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield and the Guardian passive is great for healing in PvP. Lingering Wounds which increases your damage can only be used on Duskprowlers if you have the Ignition passive which burns enemies.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for 3 seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience which reduces the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Guardian is the next best familiar passive because it can give healing when you drop below 50% life. Phalanx increases your damage and defenses, Steel Hide occasionally gives a chance to block, Precision gives critical hit chance to the familiar, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also all desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and a combination of Citrines and Topazes in yellow sockets for potency and resistances. Potency is preferred for PvM because your damage over time is instantly triggered on this build but Topazes are useful for PvP because they give resistances. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life into one or two Rubies and use them in your gear if the give more refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The Blood-Soaked Jade and Hellbound Desire five star gems are important for this build for increased movement speed. The Haunt Coil five star gem is excellent on tank builds when you switch stances which gives a large absorb shield, more damage, and damage reduction. The Fated Trail five star gem is a solid gem once you have high increased life from Vitality and resonance and it immobilizes enemies. The fairly new Leviathan's Tomb five star gem deals significantly more damage than Fated Trail on almost every build. The Blood Floe five star gem is a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of critical hit chance and critical hit damage. When using multiple legendary gems that give increased critical hit chance you should also consider using Reforge Stones to roll increased critical hit damage on your equipment for more damage. You should also switch to a Frozen Heart five star gem for PvP for an absorb shield and it also chills opponents.​
