Main Hand

Cruentation Razor - Siphon Life not transfers primary attack power to your Soulgorger minion granting it additional powers based on which primary attack you are using.

Note: Lunatic Rush gives a better primary attack power to your Soulgorger minion than the Hellfire Bolt primary attack.

Off-Hand

Dirty Tactics - When one of your Fallen Lunatics die or expire they have a chance of healing 8% of your Soulgorger's life and increase your Soulgorgers attack speed by 35% for three seconds.

Main Hand 2

Pointed Respite - Demonic Portal now summons a chieftain that heals minions and increases their primary attack speed.​

Note: You should use this minion to increase the primary attack speed of your Soulgorger minion and its shadow clones.

Off-Hand 2

Masters Furor - Demonic Portal now can summon a Hellflyer that creates a vortex that follows enemies.

Note: This essence is recommended because its awakened effect is increased Demonic Portal damage.

Helmet

Ridicule the Flames (PvM) - Soulgorger minions now also deal significantly increased damage against burning enemies.

Together in Peril (PvP) - Your Soulgorger now also takes greatly reduced damage from players.

Chest

Legion's Leavings - Blood Offering now drains life from your Soulgorger to create shadow clones that retain its buffs.

Shoulders

Battleweight - Soulgorger primary attacks increase the damage enemies take from your summons stacking up to 15 times. This minion damage increase has its maximum stacks reduced to 5 against players.

Tattertooth Chausses - Soulgorger Devour now also heals 15% of its life and increases its critical hit chance.​

Recommended Sets

1. Shepherd's Call To Wolves (6 Set) - Increases your minions' damage, increases your critical hit chance for each minion you have out, and increases your minions' attack speed for a long duration on a long cooldown.

2. Vithu's Urges (2 Set) - Increases the duration of your beneficial effects by 30%.​​​​​

Skill Enchants

1. Demonic Portal skill enchants give the highest damage because they give a 15% chance to summon another demon.

2. Blood Offering skill enchants are important because they increase your minions' primary attack speed.

3. Warp Strike skill enchants lower the cooldown of Warp Strike by 0.1 seconds when your Soulgorger attacks.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes your critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.

3. Hellbound Desire - Increases damage and movement speed with bonus damage for a six second duration.

4. Wulfheort - Slashes enemies when they take damage and increases attack speed for you, your allies, and your minions.

5. Leviathan Tomb - Increases your damage for a duration and makes critical hits increase its damage bonus.

6. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, increased movement speed (from its size increase), and temporary knockback immunity for a medium duration on cooldown.

7. Fated Trail - Deals damage as a percentage of your life, immobilizes enemies, and increases their damage taken.

8. Void Spark (PvM) - Deals high AoE damage that's very effective for challenge dungeons, terror rifts, and speed farming.

9. Frozen Heart (PvP) - Gives an absorb shield that chills enemies which lowers their attack speed and movement speed.

Note: The Wulfheort five star gem is powerful for this build because it also increases the attack speed of your minions.​​

 

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and casts a damaging spike that causes enemies to bleed.

3. Fervent Fang - Gives enemies a stacking damage taken increase and increases damage against bosses and elites.

4. Specter Glass - Increases enemies' damage taken after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

5. Viper's Bite - This damage over time two star gem is a great option early on if you have low resonance.

6. Bloody Reach - Increases your damage based on your distance to your summons and then their distance from enemies.​

7. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and deal damage but it's drop disabled.

8. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy PvP gem that gives increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

Note: Pain Clasp is the best PvM two star legendary gem and Crimson Behelit is the best PvP two star legendary gem.

Best 1 Star Starter Legendary Gems

1. Freedom And Devotion - Greatly increases your minions duration and increases damage done by your minions.

2. Berserker's Eye - Increases all of your damage and your critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

3. Everlasting Torment - A strong budget gem that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

4. Faltergrasp (PvP) - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical hits and greatly reduces their movement speed.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The Resilience is helpful because it lowers the cooldown of Savior. The Tenacity passive is great to lower the Duskprowler's shield cooldown. The Lingering Wounds passive can be used for increased damage but it only works on a Duskprowler if you also have the Ignition passive which burns enemies over time.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for 3 seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience which reduces the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Guardian is the next best familiar passive because it can heal you when you drop below 50% life. Innervate can reset one of the player's cooldowns, Phalanx increases your damage and defenses, Precision gives critical hit chance to the familiar, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also all desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Tourmalines for added damage in red sockets and use a combination of Citrines and Topazes for potency and resistances in yellow sockets for the highest refinement. Potency increases harmful effects durations on enemies and resistances decrease harmful effects durations on you. Citrines for potency is preferred if you only care about PvM damage but resistances come into play more with PvP matches. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires for increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. You can optionally combine all of your bound Rubies which give life into one or two Rubies and use them in your equipment if they give more refinement. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the normal gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The fairly new Leviathan's Tomb five star gem deals significantly more damage than the Fated Trail five star gem especially once it reaches higher ranks. The Wulfheort five star gem is excellent for this build because it slashes enemies when they're damaged for a duration on cooldown and increases you, your allies, and your minions' attack speed. When using multiple increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should also consider rolling increased critical hit damage on every piece of equipment with Reforge Stones for more damage. The Frozen Heart five star gem is strong for PvP for an absorb shield and it also chills opponents which lowers their attack speed and movement speed.​
