Diablo Immortal: A New Strong Meta PvP Barbarian

Main Hand

Reel of Katas (PvM) - Whirlwind now restores energy and increases attack speed after hitting a bleeding enemy.

Strangle Wings (PvP) - Grab now dashes towards an enemy knocking back other players and stuns them if they hit a wall.

Thrashabout - Hammer of the Ancients performs a spinning attack and its damage is increased with maximum life.

Stonefall (PvM) - Hammer of the Ancients now also deals increased damage.

Oath Crusher (PvP) - Hammer of the Ancients now also decreases your damage taken for three seconds.

Broken Soul (PvM) - Wrath of the Berserker now increases your critical hit chance instead of your attack speed.

Helmet Splitter (PvP) - Wrath of the Berserker now increases your movement speed, reduces your damage taken, and reduces the duration of loss of control effects on you.

Krubask's Sneer - During Wrath of the Berserker your critical hit chance is also increased.

Ox's Horns (PvM) - Wrath of the Berserker now causes a stacking Bleed on enemies that stacks up to three times.

Stone and Kettle (PvP) - Wrath of the Berserker now also greatly reduces your damage taken.

Truss of Stolen Skin (PvM) - After using Hammer of the Ancients your attack speed is increased for a medium duration.

Yoke of Legacy (PvP) - Hammer of the Ancients now also greatly reduces your damage taken for a short duration.

Exulted Demise - Undying Rage now replaces a large portion of your life with an absorb shield, significantly increases your damage, and gives a passive cheat death with 30% life drain when it's triggered.

1. Restitution in Blood (4 Set) - Increases damage and deals damage based on how much life the enemy has remaining.

2. Vithu's Urges (2-4 Set) - This set increases beneficial effects durations by 30% which includes Wrath of the Berserker.

3. Untouchable Mountebank (2 Set PvP) - Gives a chance to gain an absorb shield when you take damage.

Note: Blue sockets on rings for Sapphires are the best in PvM and red sockets for Rubies for life are the best for PvP.

Recommended Skill Enchants

1. Grab skill enchants are helpful for PvP because they each give a large absorb shield and knockback immunity.

2. Wrath of the Berserker skill enchants can be used for a chance to damage enemies around you every 0.5 seconds.

3. Whirlwind skill enchants are helpful for PvM because they increase the range of Whirlwind.​​

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Roiling Consequence - Increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

2. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduces damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.

3. Fated Trail - Deals damage over time as a percentage of your life, shatters enemies' armor, and immobilizes enemies.

4. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, knockback immunity, and increased size (which increases your movement speed) for a medium duration with a 20 second cooldown.

5. Blood Floe - A strong five star gem that increases damage, critical hit chance, critical hit damage, and causes bleed.

6. Bottled Hope - Gives cooldown reduction increases your damage and movement speed after using a buff skill.

7. Leviathan Tomb - Increases your damage for a duration and makes critical hits increase the damage bonus.

8. Void Spark (PvM) - Great AoE gem that releases chain lightning at up to eight enemies and increases your attack speed.

9. Frozen Heart (PvP) - A strong PvP gem that gives an absorb shield for a medium duration and chills enemies.

Note: Bottled Hope should only be used for damage and movement speed if you have plenty of rank 4+ 5 star gems.

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

2. Crimson Behelit - Strong legacy legendary gem for increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

3. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a blood spike that makes enemies bleed.

4. Specter Glass - Increases the damage taken by enemies after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

5. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and deal damage but it no longer drops.

6. Viper's Bite - A nice gem for early on that deals high damage over time if you have low legendary gems and resonance.

7. Igneous Scorn - Can be combined with Roiling Consequence and Mother's Lament to deal damage on critical hits. Igneous Scorn is the lowest priority 2 star legendary gem and it should be the first gem to be replaced with a 5 star gem.

8. Fervent Fang (PvM) - Gives a stacking damage increase and increases your damage against elites and bosses.

9. Abiding Curse (PvP) - Greatly lowers enemies' attack speed and movement speed and gives a damage increase.

Note: Pain Clasp, Crimson Behelit, and Mother's Lament are the top three 2 star gems and should be replaced last.

Best Starter 1 Star Legendary Gems

​1. Berserker's Eye - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.​

2. Everlasting Torment - Deals damage over time on crits which triggers the damage increase on the Pain Clasp gem.

​3. Entropic Well - A strong budget one star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and attack speed.

4. Ca'arsen's Invigoration - A lower priority one star legendary gem that increases your primary attack speed.

5. Faltergrasp (PvP) - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical strikes and greatly reduces their movement speed.

Note: Berserker's Eye is a great one star legendary gem and requires a high ranked up 5 star gem to match its damage.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience legendary Duskprowler with the Savior passive skill which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar lowers the cooldown of Savior.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for increased damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong, especially in PvP, because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience to reduce the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as an alternative.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Relentless Strikes is the next best skill because it gives a chance to cast the Duskprowler shield twice. Innervate gives a chance at resetting one of the player's skill cooldowns, Steel Hide gives a chance to block, Precision gives critical hit chance, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

Prioritize Rubies for maximum life on this build because maximum life increases the damage of the new Hammer of the Ancients skill with the Thrashabout essence. You should prioritize Topazes for resistances in yellow sockets but you can combine your bound Citrines and use one or two Citrines if they give higher refinement. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires in blue sockets which give increased armor and armor penetration. Gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The fairly new Fated Trail five star gem is a strong legendary gem that scales with your maximum life which can be increased with resonance and deals more damage when using Rubies in red sockets. The new Leviathan's Tomb five star gem deals more damage than Fated Trail with nearly every build but doesn't have the added benefit of an immobilize effect. The Blood Floe five star gem is strong when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and critical hit damage. The Colossus Engine gem is recommended to increase your damage, area of effect, and movement speed from its size increase. When using increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should also consider rolling increased critical hit damage on every piece of gear with Reforge Stones for more damage. One of your lowest priority gems should also be switched to a Frozen Heart five star legendary gem for PvP for a significant absorb shield and it chills opponents. ​​
