PvP Wind Walk Shield Tempest Guide

The PvP Wind Walk Shield Tempest uses the Wind Edge primary attack with Wind Walk, Breaker, Vortex, and Rolling Surf. Wind Walk is used to make your primary attacks generate a stacking absorb shield from the Gustgift essence and the Mehrwen's Humility essence make Wind Walk remove non-loss of control harmful effects. Breaker is used as a dash attack with four charges which makes you untargetable during its effect and Vortex is used with the Mehrwen's Call essence to deal damage to nearby enemies and draws enemies in. Rolling Surf with the Xsaadh Dhuth essence also empowers your and your Zephyrs' primary attacks to slash with swords for higher single target damage, increased movement speed, and it temporarily makes you immune to total loss of control and knockback effects.

Paragons & Legendary Skills: PvP Wind Walk Shield Tempest Build

1. Slayer is the best damage paragon for this build because it increases your primary attack speed and primary damage.

2. Gladiator is the best PvP paragon tree for this build because it gives a cheat death and helps with loss of control.

3. Vanquisher is the best paragon tree for increased magic find and gives increased damage and attack speed on kills.

4. Harbinger can be used in Erebban for an absorb shield, movement speed, and to move unhindered through enemies.

5. Survivor is strong in Vanguard when you have a low charm because it has a cheat death that works in Vanguard.

6. The best legendary skill is Overloaded because it increases your primary attack speed which gives shields on this build.

Main Hand

Xsaadh Dhuth - Rolling Surf now empowers your and your Zephyrs' primary attacks to slash with swords and increases your movement speed while also giving temporary immunity to total loss of control and knockback effects.

Off-Hand

Glory To Ksathra - Vortex now also greatly increases your primary attack speed.

Main Hand 2

Fiendfell - Wind Edge now also deals additional damage and shatters enemies' armor for 3 seconds every 6 seconds.

Note: Mehrwen's Humility is not recommended in this slot because it only removes harmful effects on activation.

Off-Hand 2

Maarozhi Spine - Zephyrs now also deal increased damage.

Helmet

Unyielding Vision - Critical hits with Rolling Surf now also cause additional damage to enemies.

Chest

Mehrwen's Call - Vortex now draws enemies in, damages enemies, and causes them to become drenched.

Note: It's important to have increased beneficial effects duration on your chest armor, boots, and belt for more skill uptime.

Gustgift - Wind Walk now makes primary attacks generate a stacking absorb shield and gives immunity to knockback.

Mistwalkers - Breaker now makes you untargetable during its dash, conjures a Zephyr, and has four charges.

1. Vithu's Urges (4 Set) - Increases the duration of your beneficial effects and increases your attack speed for a duration.

2. Gloomguide's Prize (4 Set) - Increases your damage and critical hit chance for three seconds after using a dash skill.

Note: It's important to have reduced skill cooldown on your amulet and rings on a Tempest for more skill uptime.

Recommended Skill Enchants

1. Wind Walk skill enchants should be stacked to make Wind Walk give a healing effect over a six second duration.

2. Rolling Surf skill enchants are the next best skill enchant because they make your primary attacks launch water blades.

3. Crosswind skill enchants can be used to conjure a wind blade that circles you dealing damage to nearby enemies.

Best 5 Star Legendary Gems

1. Blood-Soaked Jade - Gives increased damage, reduced damage taken below 50% life, and increases movement speed.

2. Roiling Consequence - Greatly increases your critical hit chance and causes critical hits to burn enemies.

3. Hellbound Desire - Increases damage and movement speed with bonus damage for a six second duration.

4. Leviathan Tomb - Increases your damage for a duration and makes critical hits increase its damage bonus.

5. Colossus Engine - Gives increased skill damage, increased area of effect, short knockback immunity, and increased movement speed (from its size increase) for a six second duration on a twenty second cooldown.

6. Wulfheort - Damage slash enemies for a duration and increases your and your allies' attack speed on cooldown.

7. Gloom Cask - Deals additional damage with primary attacks for a duration and increases your primary attack damage.

8. Frozen Heart - Gives an absorb shield and chills opponents which lowers their attack speed and movement speed.

Best 2 Star Legendary Gems

1. Crimson Behelit - Strong PvP legacy gem with increased damage and reduced damage taken that's drop disabled.

2. Pain Clasp - Gives high increased damage against enemies that have a continuous damage effect on them.

3. Mother's Lament - Increases your critical hit chance and causes a damaging blood spike that causes an enemy to bleed.

4. Specter Glass - Increases enemies' damage taken after critical hits and increases your critical hit chance.

5. Stubborn Oracle - Gives a chance to block enemies in front of you and reduces the duration of loss of control effects.

6. Mourneskull - This legacy gem can be used to increase your damage and deals its own damage but it's drop disabled.

7. Viper's Bite - A nice gem for early on that deals high damage over time which can kill opponents after their cheat deaths.

8. War Herald - This PvP gem increases your damage and gives an absorb shield after you lose a total of 100% life.

Note: Pain Clasp and Mother's Lament are the best two star gems for damage and Crimson Behelit is the best PvP gem.

Best 1 Star Legendary Gems

1. Berserker's Eye - Increases all of your damage and critical hit chance but also increases your damage taken.

2. Ca'arsen's Invigoration - A great one star gem for this build that increases your primary attack speed.

3. Blessed Pebble - This one star gem increases beneficial effects durations and increases movement speed.

4. Entropic Well - A strong one star legendary gem that increases your skill damage and increases your attack speed.

5. Everlasting Torment - A great one star gem that deals damage over time on critical hits and increases your attack speed.

6. Havoc Bearer - This budget gem increases your damage and attack speed after using a dash skill.

7. Respite Stone - This PvP one star gem reduces your damage taken and increases your block chance below 50% life.

8. Faltergrasp - Disables opponents' dash skills on critical hits and greatly reduces opponents' movement speed.

Best Familiars

1. Savior Duskprowler - Look for a 170+ Resilience Duskprowler with the Savior passive which provides a cheat death and temporary damage immunity. The 170+ Resilience on the familiar can lower the cooldown of Savior from 75 seconds to 60 seconds but only Duskprowlers and Ash Sweepers can have 170+ Resilience. The Tenacity passive is strong for lowering the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield and the Guardian passive is great because it heals you on PvP builds.

2. Broodtalon/Skitterwight - Look for Savior which provides a cheat death and Lingering Wounds for more damage.

3. Ash Sweeper - Ash Sweepers are strong for PvP because they damage nearby enemies and mark an enemy reducing their damage by 20% for three seconds. They can also have 170+ Resilience which reduces the cooldown of Savior.

4. Any Savior Familiar - You can use any familiar with Savior for a cheat death and great passive skills as a budget option.

5. Rare Duskprowler - Guardian is the next best familiar passive because it provides healing when you drop below 50% life. Steel Hide occasionally gives increased block chance, Phalanx increases your damage and defenses, Precision gives critical hit chance to familiars, and Tenacity lowers the cooldown of the Duskprowler shield which are also all desirable.

Note: Broodtalons and Skitterwights have status effects over a duration which increases the duration of Lingering Wounds.

Normal Gems

You should use both Tourmalines for added damage and Rubies for maximum life in red sockets and use Topazes for resistances which lowers harmful effects durations on you in yellow sockets. You can also use your bound Citrines which gives potency and combine them into one or two Citrines if it gives higher refinement. You should also use your highest refinement Aquamarines and Sapphires which give increased armor and armor penetration in blue sockets. Normal gems give refinement based on their quality and refinement increases the attributes on the equipment the gems are socketed in.

Gem Notes

The fairly new Leviathan's Tomb five star gem deals more damage than Fated Trail on almost every build. The Wulfheort five star gem is more powerful on this build because it increases the attack speed of you and your Zephyrs. The Colossus Engine five star gem is a strong gem because it gives burst skill damage, increases area of effect, increases movement speed (from its size increase), and it gives temporary knockback immunity. The Blood Floe five star gem is also a great option when it's combined with multiple sources of increased critical hit chance and increased critical hit damage. When using multiple increased critical hit chance legendary gems you should also consider rolling increased critical hit damage on your equipment for more damage. The Frozen Heart five star gem is important for PvP for an absorb shield and to chill opponents which lowers their attack and movement speed because this build needs high survivability in PvP.
